Hiking and Biking Trails

Throughout the Okanagan-Similkameen area, there remain abondoned railway beds from the former Kettle Valley Railway and Burlington Northern railways. The growing popularity in outdoor recreational activities, such as hiking, biking, driving, walking, mountain biking, horseback riding, cross-country skiing, and snowmobiling, has increased the interest in the converting of these railway beds into trails -rails to trails. These trails range from paved and partly paved to unpaved.

The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen (RDOS) comprises of 10,400 square kilometers, from Manning Park to the west, Summerland to the north, Anarchist Mountain to the east and the Canadian/United States border to the South.

There are approximately 172 trails and parks located in the Regional District of Okanagan Similkameen. Golden Mile 10K Walking Trail: Oliver

Starts at Tinhorn Creek Winery and goes along public and private roads as well as range land.

Kettle Valley Railway Trestle Walkway: Okanagan Falls

Old trestle was transformed into a delightful walkway for hiking/biking enthusiasts along the Skaha Lake shores to Penticton.
